In March of 2000, a dream became a reality when Birds of a Feather opened its doors in Cambria, CA.

My love of collecting now had a purpose, "to share antiques with people of a kindred heart for the history that these treasures hold".  My dream was that I would create a calm, relaxed environment with vignettes that would send my shopper's imagination soaring with inspiration of ways that they could decorate their homes with their finds.

As time went along, I added a selection of vintage and new ribbons to the mix and eventually a "Creative Corner" filled with vintage charms, ephemera, letters, numbers and all manner of eclectic bits to add to a collage, a scrapbook page or an altered book. These seemed to blend well with the mix of antiques and collectibles that I had featured all along--it was all the things that I loved and the best part was that my customers seemed to like them too! Hooray!

In August of 2010, my journey with an on-line store began.  This format extended the option of shopping at Birds of a Feather worldwide.  My hope is that the flavor of shopping in the brick and mortar shop translates to the online shopping experience.
